The Red Sox have placed right-hander Justin Slaten on the 15-day injured list due to a right oblique strain. The move is retroactive to April 5 and the Red Sox has called up rookie left-hander Tyler Samaniego to replace Slaten's position on the active roster. Slaten has been plagued by injuries since making his major league debut in 2024.
