Fort Lauderdale airport’s new seaside art: Oversized bird sculptures and more than 100 dreamlike ships

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is planning a new seaside art installation at the airport, featuring seven brightly colored bird sculptures and over 100 ship and sailboat models. The installations aim to enhance the traveler experience while showcasing local and regional artists. One display, "Last Dip," will feature large bird-like pool floats with layered sculptural waves. Another installation, "The Mariner's Dream," will consist of over 100 colorful ship and sailingboat models suspended overhead with steel cables. The art was selected from an applicant pool of 372 artists.
