The furniture industry is experiencing a slump, with sales declining by 0.82% for 2025, compared to 2024 unadjusted, according to the CNBC/National Retail Federation Retail Monitor. This has led some businesses to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. SuperNova Furniture, a 40-year-old furniture chain, filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas on April 15 listing up to $50,000 in assets and $1 million to $10 million in liabilities. The company is continuing to operate as usual.
