Cloverdale Councilmember Andres Marquez has been asked by the Healdsburg City Council to participate in discussions about regional water discussions. Marquez stated that the meetings aim to improve communication and exchange information rather than advocate for or against creating the Alexander Valley Water District. He has met with representatives from Sonoma Water, the Russian River Property Owners Association, the Mendocino County Inland Water and Power Commission, and other regional stakeholders. He asked the council to appoint one councilmember and possibly an alternate to participate. The discussions could evolve into a more formal collaborative organization like the Mendoino County Water and Energy Commission.
