Next Purdue basketball team influenced by youth, transfers, redshirts and backcourt

Purdue basketball's season ended with a 79-64 loss to Arizona in the Elite Eight, leaving key seniors Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn out of the team. The underclassmen are now tasked with leading the team following the departure of these key seniors. Coach Matt Painter expressed confidence that returning players understand the high standards set by the departing seniors. The team's future will be defined by youth, transfers, redshirts, and backcourt players. The new players will need to establish their own identity within the team, particularly in the backcourt. C.J. Cox and C.T. Cox have already established themselves as primary defensive options against perimeter players and Harris. Oscar Cluff's eligibility extension could help stabilize the rebounding.
