Strong April winds blowing back into Las Vegas Valley

A wind advisory has been issued for Southern Nevada, starting at 2 p.m. and lasting until 11 p., according to the National Weather Service. Expect southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, potentially causing tree limbs to fall and power outages. The advisory also indicates that there will be no record heat in Las Vegas on Easter weekend. High temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s for the rest of the week. The average high for late April is about 80 degrees and the average rainfall total for April is 0.2.
