Cole Tomas Allen, the suspected White House Correspondents' Dinner shooter, was identified as the suspect following the incident at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night. He reportedly traveled from California to the nation's capital by train and checked in as a guest at the hotel. He was armed with multiple guns and a knife as he rushed towards the ballroom where the event was being held. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and all event attendees were not harmed. Allen, a professional game designer and tutor from Torrance, also has a master's degree in computer science from California State University-Dominguez Hills. He is facing preliminary charges related to using a firearm and assaulting a dangerous weapon.
