A new case of hantavirus, a rare, flu-like virus linked to rodent droppings, has been confirmed in Switzerland. The World Health Organization confirmed the case after a man responded to an email from the cruise ship's operator informing the passengers of the outbreak. The WHO is working with international authorities to identify individuals exposed to the virus and prevent further spread. Three people suspected of having the virus have been evacuated from the ship and are on their way to Switzerland for medical treatment. As of May 6, there are currently 8 suspected cases linked to the vessel.
