State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, has announced that 75 schools in California have been designated as Purple Star Schools, bringing the total number of schools to 202 since the program began. The designation was created to address challenges faced by military-oriented students and encourage them to participate in accessible resources and transition programs for new students.
