A 26-year-old man who ran from State Police (ASP) in a high-speed pursuit is dead after he shot himself in the head during the high-profile incident. The chase began around 6:40 p.m. on April 22, when the Sherwood Police Department requested help from the ASP in pursuing 26-managed man on Interstate 40. The state police performed a PIT maneuver on the man's Jeep after he continued to run, causing it to fly off the interstate and crash into an embankment. The Medical Examiner ruled the death of the man as a suicide attempt.
