The Spanish word cantarito refers to the drink and the clay cup it is served in, which mellows its acidity. The recipe includes a mix of grapefruit, orange and lime juices with tequila, a pinch of salt and a Tajin rim for a little kick. The soda used in this cocktail is Jarritos, another reference to the Mexican clay drinking vessel. Tequila is the backbone of this recipe, so use a good-quality blanco or reposado. Fresh grapefruit juice is recommended for the freshness of this drink. The addition of fresh orange juice softens the edges of the tart grapefruit and lime, while adding a natural sweetness. The garnishes include sliced citrus, sliced citrus and sliced citrus.
