Get Liz Warren’s social-engineering idiocy out of the bipartisan housing bill
Published on March 30, 2026.
The House of Representatives is reportedly debating a provision in the bipartisan Senate housing bill that restricts construction on "build to rent" projects, which would only reduce the new-homes market. The provision was inserted by far-left Sen. Liz Warren (D-Mass.) who believes private-equity firms and large institutional investors have monopolised the market on American single-family homes. This myth is not true, and it makes sense for some families to rent rather than buy a home. The bill does not penalize multi-unit constructions like quadplexes or apartment buildings, which can remain rentals forever. The House should remove this provision from the bill and instead encourage the market to increase housing supply by eliminating unnecessary regulations.
