Top-seeded Michigan defeated fourth seed Alabama 90-77 in an NCAA Tournament Midwest Region semifinal in Chicago. Yaxel Lendeborg scored 23 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, leading the top-ranked Michigan to victory. The Wolverines, who are now 34-3, advanced to an Elite Eight game against the winner of the late regional semifinal between Iowa State and Tennessee. Alabama's Labaron Philon Jr. led all scorers with 35 points, while Elliot Cadeau and Trey McKenney scored 17 points apiece. Michigan's 18-6 run in the second half gave them an 18-minute lead. The win marks Michigan's ninth consecutive win in 10 games.
