Derrick Terry, an 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting Anthony Davis during a drug-related robbery, is being held at the Hamilton County jail. The incident occurred on February 4 at a Speedway gas station in Hartwell. Police and prosecutors allege that it was a drug deal involving marijuana. Terry and a co-defendant planned to meet with Davis for a drug transaction, but failed to obtain any cash. They allegedly shot Davis multiple times and fled the vehicle, which subsequently crashed. A week later, Destiny Newman, 19, was arrested on a murder charge and remains on a $1 million bond.
