However, a Senate Democrat said the Legislature could have gone further, particularly in light of some of these measures. Other measures included increasing the state's gas tax by 15% to increase its supply, storage, and increasing income tax rates. Aide to Speaker Mike Schultz highlighted the importance of keeping Utah affordable for families and ensuring taxpayers see real value for every dollar spent.
