William Shatner has addressed rumors that he is dying of brain cancer, stating that a Facebook group has been creating fake news stories about his health using AI technology to monetize them. The 95-year-old Star Trek icon accused the group of publishing fake images of him lying in a hospital bed and claiming he has stage 4 brain cancer. Shatners stated that these stories were true but were reposted on social media and received support from fans. He also revealed that the hoax had reached his daughter, Lisabeth, and her immediate family.
