This comes after he was identified as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class by his father, Chris Smith, who confirmed that he was close to signing with the Miami team. Despite this, Smith has been praised for his performance at Ohio State and could be the first wide receiver selected in the 2027 NFL draft if he declares after the season.
