Asia is set to receive over $3 million tons of Russian fuel oil this month due to Middle East disruption. Southeast Asia is expected to be the top recipient, with about 1.7 million to 1.9 million tons expected to arrive mainly at Singapore and Malaysia. Most of these volumes are expected to end up as bunker supply for ships. China is the next-largest buyer at about €1.2 million to £1.5 million tons. The higher Russian volumes have cooled the high-sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) market from recent highs, but analysts said the supply outlook remained tight. The spot premium for 380-centistoke HSFO hit a record of more than $76 a metric ton last week, but it eased to around $70 after the U.S. issued a waiver.
