Lake Erie College has launched its Center for Nonprofit & Civic Engagement, aimed at strengthening nonprofit organizations, supporting civic institutions, and training the next generation of community leaders across Northeast Ohio. The center will be led by Amy Sabath, the college's executive director of career services and workforce development, who will lead the center. The programming includes leadership coaching, board development support, strategic planning assistance, and short-term consulting for nonprofit teams. An advisory board made up of regional figures, including former U.S. Rep. Dennis Eckart and Lakeland Community College President Morris Beverage Jr., will guide the center's direction.
