The United Farm Workers union has cancelled its annual celebrations for its co-founder, Cesar Chavez, due to serious allegations. The union could not specify the specific allegations. It stated that the allegations were not directly reported and that it did not have any firsthand knowledge of these reports. The Cesar Chavez Foundation responded to the allegations and is working with leaders in the Farmworker Movement to respond to them. Instead of participating in these events, the United Farm workers are urged to participate in immigration justice events and acts of service to support farmworkers.
