Blessings in a Backpack names celebrity chef for fall fundraiser

Blessings in a Backpack's fall fundraiser will feature Top Chef winner Brooke Williamson for its 2026 Celebrity Chef Dinner at Sycamore Hills Golf Club on Sept. 8. Tickets are $800 each and proceeds will go towards feeding local children. This follows a recent diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia, which requires significant recovery time and recovery. The Literacy Alliance CEO, Melinda Haines, will retire this summer following six years of leadership. The search committee is starting to identify the next CEO.
