This is the lowest usage for these pitches combined among the 93 pitchers in the league. Despite this, he has made a significant improvement in his pitch, particularly in his seven shutout innings against the New York Yankees, where he used the splitter 41 times and the cutter 29 times, the most he's used in a single game in nearly six years. The home run issue has been a concern this year, with nine of them in seven outings.
