The NBA's board of governors is set to meet next week to discuss an expansion to a 32-league team and approve moving forward on bid offers for a future market in Las Vegas and returning to Seattle. If approved, this could bring NBA franchises to Las Vegas or Seattle, for the assumed return of the SuperSonics starting in the 2028-29 season. To make this happen, 23 of the 30 league owners would need to agree to add teams to the Association, and bids would cost anywhere between $7 and $10 billion per team. The potential expansion has been welcomed by many within the NBA community, including former players who were raised in Seattle.
