Sam Antonacci, a 23-year-old White Sox rookie utility player, has hit seven home runs in the minor leagues and one in the World Baseball Classic for Team Italy. His first big-league four-bagger for the team was an inside-the-park homer, which he believes exemplifies his self-identities as a player. The incident occurred when Arizona left fielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. mistook Antonacci's grounder for an extra base after a field attendant touched Antonacci’s grounder down the line, which was ruled not reviewable by umpires despite replay video clearly showing interference. Despite this, Antonacci settled for his first career triple on a night of three-RBI following a tough 2-for-16 performance since his call-up from April 15.
