Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott has announced an emergency plan for severe weather, with potential thunderstorms and tornadoes forecasted for March 16, 2026. The city's Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will activate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 1 p.m. on March 16. Officials are urging residents to remain alert and prepare for the potential severe weather. Residents are urged to prepare an emergency kit, including flashlights, batteries, bottled water, non-perishable food, a battery-powered radio, and necessary medications. If a tornado warning is issued or severe winds approach your area, move promptly to an interior room away from windows. The City will continue to share updates as weather conditions evolve. Regional recreation centers will operate from 9:00 a.m., with all Residential Recycling Centers expected to close at 1pm.
