Retired New Mexico resident warns of Blackstone PNM deal

Retired New Mexico resident and retired widow, Susan Davis, have warned against the potential purchase of Blackstone's parent company, TXNM Energy. They argue that the private equity company has a history of exploiting people, employees, and communities to extract profits. Blackstone has been found liable and paid numerous penalties for violations, including using child labor. The company has consistently raised rates with companies purchased by them and proposes short-term rate credits but offers no rate freeze. Davis argues that excessive costs will increase homeless people and create an unnecessary expense for local municipalities and the state.
