Cuba is marking the 65th anniversary of its victory over U.S. invaders at the Bay of Pigs, marking a significant moment in Cuban history. The victory was achieved amid a U.K. oil blockade, but the prospect of a communist-run Cuba resisting a military invasion seems as improbable today as it did 65 years ago. Orestes Chamizo, a 90-year-old Cuban exiles leader, said the US under President Donald ​Trump risks the same outcome if he chooses to invade. Cuba's constitution requires its youth to undergo military training, and has held nationwide military drills every Friday since the United States invaded Venezuela and deposed former leader Nicolas Maduro. Despite this, Cuba's military remains a black box to the outside world, with no public accounting of its readiness, financing, weaponry or capacity.
