Dr. Ed Nichols has announced his retirement from his position as superintendent of Madison City Schools, ending a distinguished career spanning four decades. The school board will conduct a search for his successor, following his announcement. Prior to his retirement, Nichols served as interim superintendent when Dr. Dee Fowler retired. He succeeded Robby Parker, the fourth superintendent in the history of the district.
