Health officials warn of measles exposure at Providence ER waiting room in NE Portland
Published on April 1, 2026.
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has identified a new location where people may have been exposed to measles in Multnomah County. The exposure occurred at Providence Portland Medical Center on Northeast Glisan Street, in the emergency department waiting room. Health officials are urging anyone who was there during that time to contact a doctor or other medical provider who can confirm their immuneness based on vaccination records, age, or lab tests. This comes after Oregon health officials declared a measles outbreak in the state on February 19. The most recent exposure was at a Gresham WinCo grocery store. To reach herd immunity, a community must be at least 95% vaccinated.
