The FBI is investigating a local travel agent, Ryne Vitug, who is accused of defrauding customers of hundreds of thousands of dollars and never booking their trips. The alleged victims include Jason Anderson who lost nearly $10,000 to Vitug. The FBI is asking for potential victims to come forward and is working to identify victims in a recent travel-based fraud scheme. The Illinois Supreme Court's Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission has filed a formal complaint against Vitug for accepting at least $1.5 million in funds from individuals and failing to provide the items or issue a refund. The complaint alleges that Vitug used hundreds of individuals for travel and event-related transactions and then failed to provide them or refund them.
