Bruce Springsteen, a frequent critic of Donald Trump and his administration, has offered a prayer of thanks for the safety of the White House Correspondents' Dinner and called for peace at home and overseas, and for a strong stance against political violence. This comes after a gunman stormed the event and was arrested at the scene. The incident occurred at the same hotel where late President Ronald Reagan was almost assassinated 45 years ago. This is believed to be the third attempt on Trump's life since he took office. Despite previous criticism of the president, Springsteen expressed a more conciliatory tone on Sunday. The White House correspondents' dinner will be reschedchedcheduled within 30 days, with a rescheduled event set to be cancelled within that period.
