A recent blog post by Incogni, a tech company that helps people find and remove personal data obtained from commercial sites and digital companies, has warned that workplace applications are increasingly profiting from employee data without their knowledge or consent. The study found that common employer-provided applications, such as Gmail, Slack, Outlook, Todoist, and other utilities, collect user data for advertising or marketing purposes, while employee-assigned tools are more likely to share personal data with third parties. This could pose significant risks for employees, including financial and health details, and potentially lead to employee data being stolen in hacker attacks.
