Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is expected to undergo a significant transformation from his playing days under former offensive coordinator Zach Robinson. Penix previously lined up almost exclusively in the shotgun or pistol formation, which led to the Falcons running the least amount of play-action in the NFL in the league. Despite Robinson's belief that Penix shouldn't be behind center, Penix has been operating under center during OTAs, minicamp, and training camp. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has emphasized the use of various formations, regardless of the quarterback's position. No matter who lines up at quarterback, expect to see a wide variety of formations that make the offense less predictable.
