The partial government shutdown has resulted in long security lines at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, and William P.M. George Bush Airport. This is due to ongoing shortages of Transportation Security Administration officers, leading to longer wait times and decreased capacity at the airport. Over 60,000 TSA workers have gone without pay during the shutdown, and about 10% of these officers are reportedly calling out. Additional delays are expected at William P., Texas, even though the airport has only one main terminal.
