Elmhurst Finds More Possible Budget Cuts: Official

The City Council of Elmhurst, New York, has found out about 20 potential cost-cutting ideas for its budget, following a vote to cut $3.6 million from the budget and increase property taxes last year. The finance committee, headed by Alderwoman Noel Talluto, has been hearing presentations from various departments and has spent much of its time behind closed doors discussing the potential cuts. The city's budget gap continues to grow, with income increasing but spending increasing.
