The visit is intended to bolster Orbán's government ahead of upcoming parliamentary elections, where polls suggest his party may be in trouble. During the press conference, Vance praised Orbán for his energy policy and policies regarding energy security and independence in Hungary. He also criticized other European countries' efforts to address energy struggles they are facing amid the U.S.-Israeli conflict against Iran.
