Education Department, greatly reduced by Trump, changing DC headquarters

The Department of Education is moving out of its headquarters in Washington, D.C., after half of its workforce was cut as part of President Trump's efforts to eliminate the agency. The move is expected to save taxpayers $4.8 million annually. The Lyndon B. Johnson Building will be taken over by the Department of Energy, a decision made to save $350 million in maintenance costs. The department has reduced its workforce from 4,000 to 2,000, and has made interagency deals to take over some of its programs.
