A caller on conservative talk radio show, Linda from Arizona, suggested the idea for the deployment of ICE agents to airports was pitched on Fox News' "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show" by radio host Clay Travis. The White House has not commented on whether President Trump heard the idea and acted accordingly. The radio conversation was prompted by a congressional standoff over funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which has resulted in a five-week partial shutdown of the department. The show's Facebook page praised its influence on the idea, stating that on Friday, Linda proposed a brilliant idea that ICE agents could help alleviate long lines at major airports. The president's vision for ICE agents at airports was announced on Saturday afternoon.
