A man in India was gored to death by an elephant that escaped its chains and embarked on a car-tossing rampage. The elephant, identified as Vishnu, was transporting an elephant to the Kidangoor Mahavishnu Temple for blessings as part of a festival. While being taken for watering, the animal became aggressive and attacked Vishnu. The animal also injured its primary caretaker, Pradeep, who was rushed to a nearby hospital. The incident occurred on Friday, May 1 and led to a specialized elephant squad being called out to tranquilize the animal.
