Ren Konami, leader of the street scouting group Truss, has been handed a suspended sentence by the Osaka District Court for introducing women into the sex industry. Konami was convicted of recruiting three women in their 20s and sending them to work at commercial sex establishments in Sapporo and Nagoya two years ago. The court condemned the operation as "habitual and organized crime". Despite admitting to the charges, the judge sentenced Konami to two years and six months in prison, suspended for three years.
