The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its first report on a helicopter crash that left two Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) crew members, pilot Robert Skankey, 61, and trooper paramedic Hunter Bennett, 28, dead in February. The crash occurred while the DPS' Ranger 56 helicopter was on the scene of an active shooter situation in Flagstaff. The NTSB found no evidence of gunfire on the helicopter. The main wreckage of the helicopter was found on a dirt road north of Flagstaff Airport, with fire damage to the cockpit and cabin. The suspect, Terrell Storey, was captured shortly after the crash and indicted on 60 criminal counts, including two murder charges for Skonkey and Bennett's deaths.
