Trump Admin Drops the Hammer on School District for Kicking Girls Aside for Trans Athletes

The U.S. Department of Education has accused Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado of violating Title IX rules by allowing male students to access female bathrooms, locker rooms, and overnight accommodations, and to compete in female sports. The department's Office of Civil Rights found that the district prioritized "gender identity" over equal access for its female students. The district was given 10 days to agree to the terms of a Resolution Agreement, which includes scrapping policies that allow men to access “female intimate facilities,” spend the night with girls, and compete in girls' sports. While not stating it would refuse to comply, the school district has stated that the Resolution Agreement would align with Colorado law.
