Northlight Theatre's future location in downtown Evanston is under construction, with the exterior walls of the building being put up and the stage built. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of the summer, with audience seats installed within six weeks. The new theater will open in September with five productions, including "The Front Page" by Jeffrey Hatcher. Northlight Theatre has been fundraising for this new home for a long time, starting with the Next Act Campaign in 2018. The company has raised $30 million of the project budget of $32.2 million through individual donations, with 70% of them from Evanston. The fundraising continues with popular projects such as naming seats and selling engraved bricks for the walkway of the theater.
