Travis Tierney, a former brain surgeon from Nebraska City, has been transferred to Douglas County for the same sexual assault charges. This move comes as two men received vastly different prison sentences for same crimes. The sentences were criticized by Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine as being excessive. The case against Tierney was dismissed by Sarpy County prosecutors this week, with the possibility of bringing it back later. Additionally, Tierney will be tried before a judge who previously sentenced one of the co-defendants to probation for first degree sexual assault.
