The two men accused of attempted murder of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper in 2024 have been convicted of multiple counts including attempted murder. Timothy Davis Jr. and Braze Rucker were found guilty of the following charges by a Putnam County jury. The charges stem from an incident on I-40 East near the Willow Avenue exit ramp in Cookeville, Tennessee, on July 19, 2024. The state attorney for the 13th Judicial District, Bryant Dunaway, stated that the men chose to risk their temporary freedom over Trooper Adam Cothron's life, believing their life would be better served if they were not. Both Davis and Rucker have been in custody since their arrests in 2024 and have been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
