Iran's Parliamentary Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, is using social media to counter President Donald Trump's influence on news coverage and financial markets. This comes as Iran and its supporters engage in a growing information war, flooding the internet with memes and AI-generated content faking attacks on American bases. While most Iranians are banned from the internet, Ghalbaf, a decade and a half younger than Trump, has adopted a more aggressive style of communication. He accused the president of using his posts on Truth Social to manipulate financial markets and suggested that if they wanted to profit from the war, they should short the oil market. However, in public, he has been more hostile to the American president and forces.
