The Anchorage Daily News has interviewed six top high school track and field athletes from around the state at the annual Big C Relays. The list includes a sprinter who likes to play disc golf and a reigning state champion who can't get enough Macklemore. The top performers included a senior sprinter from Soldotna who was the Division I boys state runner-up in the 100 meters in 2025 and is the reigning state champ in the 200 meters. The South Anchorage senior athlete, who is also the reigning Division I girls state champion in the 400m, credits her older brother for their influence. Her goals for this season are to win state, beat personal records and perform well in college.
