Louisiana transportation agency chosen to be part of new federal pilot program

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has been chosen to participate in a new pilot program led by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The program will test emerging aircraft technologies, including "air taxis," and will also test cargo and personnel transportation capabilities. The pilot project will impact the entire state. DOTD's proposal received support from state leaders. The initiative aims to strengthen the link between air operations and other modes of transportation.
