A study conducted by the daily growth app Headway has revealed that 39% of people have been romantically or sexually involved with a close friend. The outcomes of this relationship were varied, with 14% stating it strengthened the bond, 16% created tension, and 9% ended the friendship. However, Dr. Suzanne Degges-White, a licensed counselor and relationship expert, suggests that crossing the line from friends to lovers can be beneficial, as trust, sharing confidences, and feeling comfortable with friends can make it easy to take a step into physical intimacy.
