Matthew Farwell, a former Stoughton police officer charged in the killing of Sandra Birchmore, has his lawyers backtrack, stating that an unnamed man fathered her unborn son. This comes after Farwell's twin brother was identified as the child's biological father in a motion asking for his release on $50,000 bail with restrictions. Previously, Farwell was ruled out as the father of Birchmore's unborn child through DNA testing. Prosecutors allege that Farwell began sexually exploiting Birchmore when she was 15 and strangled her to death to prevent her from reporting him for federal crimes. If released on $100,000 bond, his lawyers argue that he is not a danger to the community and will not flee to escape prosecution.
